Hello fellow EV enthusiasts!

What a year it’s been so far, and as we navigate the ever-changing British weather, our electric vehicles continue to shine, come rain or (rare) shine! From frosty mornings that test our battery pre-conditioning to those lovely, crisp days where range anxiety is a distant memory, our EVs are proving their resilience and adaptability.

It feels like just yesterday we were talking about the “future” of electric vehicles, and now, here we are, firmly in the midst of it! Globally, the EV landscape is exploding. Every week brings news of new models, improved charging infrastructure, and innovative battery technology. From the bustling streets of Oslo, where EVs dominate the market, to the rapidly expanding networks across Asia and North America, it’s clear that the world is embracing electric mobility at an astonishing pace.

Do we feel they’re taking over? Absolutely! While there’s still work to be done in terms of infrastructure and upfront costs, the momentum is undeniable. Governments are setting ambitious targets, manufacturers are pouring billions into R&D, and consumers are increasingly making the switch. The environmental benefits are a huge driver, of course, but let’s be honest, the smooth, silent power delivery and lower running costs are pretty compelling too!

And mainstream? I wholeheartedly believe so. We’re seeing EVs become more diverse, catering to every need and budget, from compact city cars to rugged SUVs and even electric vans transforming logistics. The “early adopter” phase is giving way to widespread acceptance, and it won’t be long before an EV in every driveway is as common as a petrol or diesel car is today. Just imagine a world where the air is cleaner and the roads are quieter – that’s the future we’re driving towards!

What are your thoughts? Are you feeling the global shift? Let us know in the comments below! And perhaps share your best (or worst!) weather-related EV stories from the past year!

Happy (electric) motoring!

P.S. Here’s a little something to get us in the mood for an electrified future:
