Firstly this has now taken the crown as the most efficient EV on my efficiency loop. It got a massive 8.8mpkwh, that would be enough to take it over 370 miles to a charge. Even in mixed driving with AC on it gave a highly respectable 5.1mpkwh which put is straight in the middle of its WLTP TEL and TEH figures.

I have to admit I was a bit worried when I first saw the specs with a 43kWh usable out of 53kwh battery. (It has a massive protection buffer, should help for massive battery life). Would this car have enough range to compete in this sector of the market. Glad to say my fears were unfounded with it easily getting a range over 200miles. I even took it on a trip to CarFest, requiring only one charge. This charge was extremely quick doing 10% to 90% in a couple of seconds over 30mins.

The rest of the Puma keeps everything that made the ICE version so popular. Currently the larger screens set the EV apart from the ICE variant. The only compromise I could see using the ICE platform is the slightly higher rear seat, which could compromise rear head but at 6.1Ft I fitted fine. Good news is rear storage space. With no tailpipe to contend with, the mega box storage has got even larger. They have also managed to add a small frunk to keep your cables. Other differences between the petrol is it lacks a grill which improves aero to give it more range.

With prices starting from just under 30K it should sell well too. My choice would be the Premium Model over the Select model tested here which adds matrix lights, Power Tailgate and Adaptive Cruise. Its definitely a Puma but just Electric especially well done on the efficiency Ford.
